Obituary: Ronald “The Governor” C. Westfield

Ronald “The Governor” C. Westfield, age 63 of Markesan, passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

Ronald was born on May 28, 1950 in Beaver Dam, the son of the late Carl and Irma (nee Eichsteadt) Westfield. He attended Markesan Schools and was married to Christine Merwin. Ron spent many years as a semi driver and working for Wagner Motor Sport. He enjoyed NASCAR and attending the Daytona 500. He was an avid collector and enjoyed spirited conversations with his many friends and acquaintances. Ron and his colorful stories will be missed by all.

Ronald is survived by his children, Shawn (Amy Lee) Merwin of Cazenovia, WI, Katie (Richard) Jerome and their children, Arianna, Kaylah and Sophia of Wyocena, Ryan (Tina) Westfield and their children, Drake, Morgan and Baby of Princeton, Dillion (Cherrie) Westfield and their children, Lilliannah, Aaron and Aayden of Endeavor, WI; his siblings, Norma Westfield, Karen (Lawrence) Indermuehle, Virginia Lohry, Lynnette Westfield, Ralph Westfield, Daniel (Lynn) Westfield and Martin (Sandy) Westfield. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Ronald will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan. He will be laid to rest at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.

Visitation will take place at Cornerstone on Monday, April 21, 2014 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. and also prior to the service on Tuesday, beginning at 10:00 a.m.

Memorials in Ronald’s name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
