Obituary: Mary Lou Nenno

Mary Lou Nenno, age 71, of Wautoma and formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 at Omro Care Center.

Mary Lou was born in Beaver Dam on February 14, 1943, the daughter of Nick and Shirley (nee Davis) Strumberger. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School and the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, with a degree in education. She worked as a teacher at St. Patrick’s School in Beaver Dam, as well as other schools throughout the United States. She was united in marriage to Bob G. Nenno on June 25, 1966 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Beaver Dam. Mary Lou loved hunting, fishing, snowmobiling in her earlier years, camping and traveling, especially to Europe. She was an avid reader and enjoyed being outdoors.

Mary Lou is survived by her husband, Bob of Wautoma; her sister, Nicole (Gerald) Hupf of Beaver Dam; her sisters-in-law, Janet Plankel-Minnig of Beaver Dam, Marlene (Jerry) Berres of Mirarmor Beach, FL; her brothers-in-law, AJ (Carol) Nenno of Janesville, Terry (Jane) Nenno of Winter, WI; her uncle, Gerald (Wanda) Davis of Kendallville, IN. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her mother and father-in-law, Gerald and Loretta Nenno, her brother, Robert and other relatives.

A Memorial Service for Mary Lou will be held on Thursday, April 24, 2014 at noon at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. A Memorial Gathering will take place prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 10:00 a.m. A luncheon will be served following the service at Cornerstone.
