The Museum of Wisconsin Art (MOWA) is pleased to announce Horicon Bank as a 2014 Exhibition Sponsor, with the recent gift of $10,000. MOWA presents 12 exhibitions annually in three changing exhibition galleries. Horicon Bank’s sponsorship helps support the research and presentation of the 2014 schedule of exhibitions. This sponsorship is a continuation of what has been a longtime commitment to MOWA by Horicon Bank.
In addition to frequent exhibition and programming sponsorships since 2009, Horicon Bank was a major donor to MOWA’s capital campaign, with its support of $100,000 for the new building which opened in 2013. This generous contribution resulted in the naming of MOWA’s ONE Gallery in the balcony as the “Horicon Bank Gallery.” Not only has Horicon Bank demonstrated monetary support, but volunteer support as well. For the past five years Horicon Bank Marketing & Communications Vice President, Fred C. Schwertfeger has served as a member of MOWA’s Board of Directors. Schwertfeger is a valuable asset to the Board, bringing with him a background in art history from the University of St. Andrews in Scotland and the University of Oxford.
“Horicon Bank is proud to support the Museum of Wisconsin Art, which continues to promote a national level exhibitions and programs that attract visitors to our community,” said Schwertfeger.
“Horicon Bank is a vital partner of MOWA, making world-class exhibitions possible right here in the State of Wisconsin,” said Laurie Winters, MOWA Executive Director | CEO. “We are grateful that Horicon Bank understands the value of having Wisconsin’s art museum in their backyard and we look forward to a continued mutually beneficial relationship.”
