Obituary: Roland E. Heuer

Roland E. Heuer, age 77 of Juneau, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at  Clearview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Juneau. He has gone to be with his Savior, after a long hard struggle with his health.

Roland was born on August 8, 1936 to Erwin and Clara (Bischoff) Heuer in the town of Hustisford on the farm. He went to Hustisford High School and was stationed at Fort Riley in Kansas for two years while he served in the United States Army. He was married to Marjorie Krahn on October 11, 1958 at St. Peter’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Oak Grove. Together, they enjoyed 55 years of marriage and raised five children. Roland was a lifelong farmer and also helped out on Louis Nehls and Bill Nass’s farms. He was an honorary member of the Juneau American Legion Post 15 and enjoyed square dancing with the Country Swingers.

Roland is survived by his wife, Marjorie of Juneau; his children, Steven of Juneau, Warren of Juneau, Julie (Kenna) Heuer-Jones of North Hollywood, CA, Heidi (Dana) Schlieve of Mayville and Christopher (Amy) of Alexandria, VA; his grandchildren, Kayla, Samantha and Mitchell Moldenhauer, Kenzey and Jameson Heuer-Jones, Ashley and Jack Heuer, Craig, Grant and Blake Schlieve; one great-grandson, Owen Schlieve; and his sister, Lorraine Kittel of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his in-laws, Erwin and Gertrude Krahn, and other relatives. 

A Funeral Service for Roland will be held on Thursday, July 17, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Roger Grosnick officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 9:00 a.m. A luncheon will immediately follow the funeral service at Cornerstone and Roland will be laid to rest at Oak Grove Cemetery in Oak Grove with graveside military honors provided by Juneau American Legion Post 15.
