Obituary: Carol R. Hron

On Friday, August 8, 2014, Carol R. Hron went to her heavenly home surrounded by her husband of 63 years, Charles, and her entire family.

Visitation for Carol will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  Funeral services will be at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 11:00 AM with Fr. Michael J. Erwin officiating.  Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

In addition to raising her family, Carol worked at Stokely Canning Co, Weyenberg Shoe Co, and later, Metalfab for many years.  She loved spending time outdoors and decorating the yard with lawn ornaments.  Over the years, she and Charles enjoyed square dancing, snow-mobiling, camping, traveling, and socializing with friends at their favorite bars.  Carol loved collecting action toys and stuffed animals and doing jigsaw puzzles.  She especially loved Christmas and was often finished shopping for her entire family and friends by September.

She is survived by her husband Charles; her children, Sandra (Gary) Tiedt, Marjorie Nehring, Susan (Steve) Miller, Donna Zuehlke, Robert (Lynn) Hron, and Ronald (Brenda) Hron; 14 grandchildren; 2 step granddaughters; 21 great grandchildren; and 11 step great grandchildren.  She is further survived by her sisters, Mabel Helmer and Karen Beers; brother-in-law, Leonard Neuman; in-laws, Ruth & Don Hiley, Rosemary Smith, Pat Schade; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by 2 sons-in-law: Gary Zuehlke and Marvin Nehring; her parents: Earl Oliver and Ella Rowe; stepfather, Merrit Rowe; sisters: Mary Ellen Wallendal and Marlene Neuman; brothers: Earl “Sonny” Oliver and Gary Oliver; brothers-in-law: Orrie Helmer, Arthur Wallendal, Dennis Beers, Lyle Edmunds, Merlin Keyser, Keith Pierce, Gordon Smith, and David Schade; and sisters-in-law: Shirley Oliver, Doris Edmunds, Jane Keyser and Mary Pierce also her mother and father-in-law: Rose and Charles Hron.
