Obituary: Thomas Sobrilsky

Thomas Sobrilsky, age 75, a life-long resident of Beaver Dam, died at his home on Sunday, September 7, 2014.

There will be a memorial gathering for Tom at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Thursday, September 11, 2014 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.

Thomas was born on September 19, 1938 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Thomas and Teresa (Kovacs) Sobrilsky.  He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1957 and served in the United States Army during the Korean War.  On October 28, 1961, Tom was united in marriage with Kathleen “Kitty” McTiernan in Beaver Dam.  He worked as a production scheduler for Metalfab and Kirsh Foundry before retiring in 1994.  Tom was a sports enthusiast throughout his life and nothing gave him more joy than to watch his grandchildren as they participated in their activities.

Survivors include his children, Todd (Ann) Sobrilsky of Brookfield, Sara (Todd) Blair of Las Vegas, and John Sobrilsky of Oshkosh; six grandchildren, A.J. Sobrilsky of Green Bay, Nick Sobrilsky of New Berlin, Carly Sobrilsky of Brookfield, Dale Weber of Beaver Dam, Ryan (Jennifer Krueger) Sobrilsky of Oshkosh, and Casey Sobrilsky of Milwaukee; a great granddaughter, Lexi Sobrilsky; his brother, David (Karen “Cubby”) Sobrilsky of Michigan; other relatives and friends.  Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a brother, Leslie Sobrilsky, and two sisters, Rosemary Cameron and Adeline Sonnenberg.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Thomas Sobrilsky’s name to the Beaver Dam Youth Wrestling Club or the Beaver Dam Flattail Foundation.
