Obituary: Joann I. Keel

Joann I. Keel, 81, of the township of Lowell passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Joann Irene was born the daughter of Roland C. and Viola H. (Callies) Michael on January 1, 1933 in the town of Oak Grove.  On October 6, 1949, she was married to Emil Hahn Jr, who preceded her in death in 1952.  She was later married to Eugene M. Keel on September 26, 1953 in Lowell.

Joann enjoyed playing bingo and going dancing.  She had also been a volunteer at the Golden Living Center.

Joann is survived by her children: Nancy (Joe) Schade of Beaver Dam, Ross (Renee) Keel of Mayville, Russell Keel of Beaver Dam, Kevin (Deb) Keel of Juneau, Quint (Lisa) Keel of Reeseville; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren;  and two brothers Warren (Jean) Michael of Arlington, WI and Donald Michael of Murnan, KY.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Emil in 1952, second husband Eugene in 1987, sister Mary Ellis, son Danny Dean Hahn, granddaughter Tamara Lee and son-in-law Virgil C. Lee.

Funeral services for Joann will be held on Friday, October 3, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville with the Rev. Paul Stratman officiating.  A visitation will also be held on Friday, October 3rd from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Lowell Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be directed to the family.
