Beauty from a Bike – “Autumn’s Color” October 2014

My bikes are hanging by their wheels from the garage ceiling. That’s a sure sign that it’s time to enjoy the brilliant colors of autumn. Currently, the colors are at peak in most areas in southern Wisconsin. In just a few days the trees will be bare, so get out now to enjoy fall’s splendor. Locally, Swan Park in Beaver Dam always puts on a grand show this time year. Another jewel is Ledge County Park near Mayville just off Raaschs Hill Road. The Horicon Marsh will treat you to colors mixed in with migratory birds. A little further away is my favorite Wisconsin State Park, Devils Lake. While there, be sure to check out Parfreys Glen (County Road DL) and Pewitts Nest State Natural Area on County Road W near the community of West Baraboo. Enjoy!
