Obituary: Hazel Weigelt

Hazel Weigelt, age 96 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2014 at Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Hazel was born on October 14, 1918 in Boulder, CO, the daughter of Fred and Emma (Hayes) Mingus. She was united in marriage to Oscar Weigelt. Hazel spent many of her working years doing sewing for Oshkosh B’gosh and embroidery for Badger Overhaul. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, fishing, crocheting, and playing the organ. She treasured all of the time she spent with her grandchildren and at their cottage in Mountain.

Hazel is survived by her daughter, Beverly Hundt of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Brenda (Kevin) Purtell, Mark Whitty, Pat Whitty, Todd (Christine) Whitty, all of Oshkosh, Lisa Maddison (Alan) Clough, and Michael (Kathy) Hundt, both of Juneau; 12 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; her son-in-law, Ralph Whitty of Oshkosh and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar; her daughter, Delores Whitty; her great-grandson, Dustin Maddison; her brothers, Robert, George and Jack; and her sisters, Dorthy, Evelyn, Edna and Grace.

In honoring Hazel’s wishes, no formal services will be held.
