Judith Born, age 70, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 6, 2014 at Agrace Hospice in Madison.
Judith was born on March 6, 1944 in Fox Lake, WI to Fred and Beulah (Kaschub) Dykstra. She was united in marriage to Robert L Born, a devoted and loving man in 1980 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnett. Judith worked as a Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources game warden and for 15 years at the Dodge County Sheriff’s Department.
Judith was an accomplished hunter and outdoors women and often traveled out West and to Canada with her loving husband. She was an active and dedicated member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Burnett, Ladies Aide Society, past president of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League, and member of a local Spanish Club. She also enjoyed gardening, canning and several other hobbies.
Judith is survived by her sister Esther Tanger of Beaver Dam; nieces Jacqualine Bishop of Beaver Dam, Cheryl Echeverria of Tucson, Arizona; a grandson Gregory (Brooke A.) A. Born of Waupun and their children, Torrey and Brennigan Born. She is further survived by her step children; Sue (Gary) Koehler of Beaver Dam, William Born of Waupun and Kathleen (Jim Madden) Nitschke of Beaver Dam. She is also survived by step-children, Lester Born and Daniel Born, as well as other relatives and friends.
Judith was preceded in death by her loving husband Robert L. Born on March 22, 2014, parents, Fred and Beulah Dykstra and brother-in-law DeWane Tanger.
Visitation for Judith will be on Sunday, November 9, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. Burial will take place at Burnett Union Cemetery in Burnett and a luncheon will follow the burial back at Cornerstone.
