Obituary: Eugene Fredrick Klebs

Eugene Fredrick Klebs, 84, Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully  at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, November 12, 2014. 

Eugene was born to Linda (Fischer) and Albert Klebs on February 12, 1930, in Beaver Dam.  He had one sister, Charlene (Les) Quiring.   He was a lifetime member of St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  Eugene married the love of his life, Ramona Nagreen, on August 21, 1948.  Together they lovingly raised their family of six children, Sandy (Joe) Garczynski, Beaver Dam; Gary (Mary) Klebs , Anchorage, AK; Debra (Paul) Giese-Pizzuti (Louisville, KY); Patsy (John) Hynes, Louisville, KY; Janice (Jeff) Tischler, Beaver Dam; and Craig Klebs, Miami, FL. 

Eugene enlisted in the National Guard in 1949, serving three years and and was stationed at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin.  Eugene was employed as a truckdriver, working for CW Transport for 36 years, being awarded for his flawless safe driving, accident free record.

Eugene loved hunting, fishing, trapshooting, traveling out of state to visit his children, and watching Packer games.  However, most of all, he loved  his family.   He loved making his children and grandchildren laugh.  He loved a good time and was always the first to make a good time happen.  You could often hear him singing You Are My Sunshine with his granddaughters, or telling fishing and hunting stories to his grandsons.  No matter what was happening, Eugene had a fun-loving, inspiring presence in his family and everyone wanted to be with him. 

Eugene is survived by and will be deeply missed by his wife of 66 years, Ramona, and his children, as well as his grandchildren,  Joe Garczynski and Julie (Kevin) Orlowski;  Mike (Mary) Klebs, Matt (Sarah) Klebs, Amy (Jacob) Mozolik;  Stephanie Giese and Jason (Heather) Giese; Lindsay (Dick) Jones, Megan Hynes, Josh Beecher and Nate Tischler, Andrew Tischler, and Natalie Tischler; great-grandchildren Hannah and Allyson Garczynski, Eric Orlowski, and Melody and Brienna Tischler; and great-great-grandson Kayden Garczynski;  many nieces and nephews, as well as his sister, Charlene (Les) Quiring of Beaver Dam.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 from 3 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd., Beaver Dam, and also on Sunday, November 16th from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam with the funeral service beginning at 2 p.m.  Interment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery, Beaver Dam with graveside military honors conducted by the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146 of Beaver Dam.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial be made to St. Stephen’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. 

The family of Eugene would like to thank all the wonderful nursing staff at Hillside Manor who so lovingly took care of him during the last few years of his life.
