Obituary: Rodney C. “Mitty” Schoenwetter

Rodney C. “Mitty” Schoenwetter, age 72, of Adams, died on Thursday, December 18, 2014 at UW Hospital in Madison.

The visitation will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home in Reeseville on Friday, December 26, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The funeral service will follow at the funeral home on Friday at 1:00 p.m. Cremation will follow.

Rodney Carl Schoenwetter was born on May 30, 1942 in Lowell, Wisconsin to William and Alice (Leistico) Schoenwetter. On October 1, 1961 he was united in marriage with Phyllis Beske at Zion Lutheran Church in Clyman. Rodney enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting, 4-wheeling, and fishing. He looked forward to his overnight ice fishing trips with his sons-in-law and grandsons. Rodney loved all sports and was always cheering on his favorite teams. He would often attend banquets in the area, whether it be for the Turkey Federation or for Ducks Unlimited. Rodney’s true love was the time spent with his family and friends and he will be missed.

Survivors are his wife, Phyllis of Adams; daughters, Sharon (Neal) Yerges of Reeseville, Brenda (Bob) Hardy of Lowell, and Lynn Henning of Adams; grandchildren, Stephanie, Amanda (Jason), Ashley, Rodney, Jake, and Samantha; five great grandchildren; mother, Alice Schoenwetter of Juneau; son-in-law, Jeff Clark of Reeseville; five step daughters; brothers, Albert (Marlene) Scheonwetter of Beaver Dam and Allen (Judy) Schoenwetter of Fort Walton Beach, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Rodger; sister, Bertha Radtke; and daughter, Karen Clark.
