Yvonne M. Ahearn, age 89 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 19, 2014 at The Landmark – Charleston House in Beaver Dam.
Yvonne was born on July 20, 1925 in Algoma, WI to Otto and Lena (Dachelet) Iwen. She was united in marriage to Francis W. Ahearn on July 13, 1946 in Chilton, WI. Yvonne enjoyed being a housewife and raising her three children. She also worked part-time at Farmers State Bank and Sears, both in Beaver Dam. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam and active with the Daughters of Isabella. For 25 years, Yvonne enjoyed escaping the cold and spending the winter months in Florida. In her free time, she enjoyed reading, knitting, painting and spending time with her beloved grandchildren.
Yvonne is survived by her children, Rachel (Don) Tess of Fox Lake, Yvonne (John) Blackburn of Fond du Lac and Tim (Elaine) Ahearn of Beaver Dam; her grandchildren, Christopher (Theresa) Cook, Thomas (Amy) Cook, Col. Robert (Mary) Cook, Jillayne (John) Verich, Michelle (John) Paulson, Janelle (Rob) Johnson, Joseph (Andrea) Blackburn, Jared (Kayla) Ahearn and Justin (Kayla Kittelson) Ahearn; 19 great-grandchildren and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brother, Melvin, her son-in-law, David Mathias and other relatives.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Yvonne will be held on Monday, December 29, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. (noon) at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam with Father Erick Cassiano as celebrant. Visitation will be held prior to the mass at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery, town of Beaver Dam.
