Obituary: Earl Wesley Farwell

Earl Wesley Farwell, 91, went to meet his Lord and Savior on Monday, December 15, 2014.  He was currently residing at the Charleston House in Beaver Dam and receiving care from Generations Hospice. 

Earl was preceded in death by his wife and love of his life for 69 years, Alice (Nicholson) Farwell, and two sons: Jimmy Joe and Scott Earl.  He is survived by his daughter, Nikki (Tom) Mason of Conover, WI; granddaughter, Heather (Sean) DuCoty and two great-grandchildren: Emma and Ethan; and several nieces, nephews and many friends.

Earl was born in Fort Dodge, IA to Earl S. and Marry Ellen (Goble) Farwell on May 21, 1923.  He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII.  He was a salesman and retired as general manager of Associated Merchants in Beaver Dam.  Earl was a member of Trinity Church – United Methodist in Beaver Dam.

Over the years, many interests brought joy to Earl’s life, including golf, fishing, motorcycling, playing cards, square dancing, barbershop and gospel music, and becoming a Christian and studying the Bible.  His unconditional love of family and friends will be his legacy. 

A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015 from noon until 1 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Rd., Beaver Dam with a memorial service beginning at 1 p.m. A time for fellowship will follow the service at the funeral home. 

Memorials may be directed to Generations Hospice of Fond du Lac.
