Obituary: Ruth S. Pauly

Ruth S. Pauly, born February 24, 1920, entered eternal life Thursday afternoon, January 1, 2015, with the confidence of forgiveness of her sins through the death and resurrection of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Her body now waits for the great resurrection day when Jesus will return and unite again her soul and body to live forever in heaven with all God’s children.

Visitation for Ruth will be at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 400 South Main Street in Juneau, on Monday, January 5, 2015 from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.  Funeral services will follow at church on Monday at 6:00 p.m. with Rev. Paul Schupmann officiating.  Inurnment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park in Brookfield.

Ruth was born on February 24, 1920 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the late Max and Ida (Boese) Wenzlaff.  After high school, she was united in marriage with Eugene Pauly; he preceded her in death in 1968.  A God-fearing wife and mother, Ruth lived in Milwaukee for most of her life.  She was a member of Jerusalem Lutheran Church and was active in the Choir and Ladies Guild.  In 2009, Ruth moved to Juneau to live with her daughter and became a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Ruth is survived by her daughter, Kathleen Pauly of Juneau, and other relatives and friends.  She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and her two sisters, Lorraine and Lucille.

If desired, memorials may be made in Ruth S. Pauly’s name to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church Debt Fund in Juneau.
