Obituary: Rodney Schumacher

Rodney Schumacher, age 82, of Randolph, died unexpectedly on Friday, January 2, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

The memorial gathering will be at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fox Lake on Saturday, January 10, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. The memorial service will follow at the church at 12:00 noon with Rev. David Knottling officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date at Randolph Cemetery.

Rodney A. Schumacher was born on August 8, 1932 in Waterloo, Wisconsin to Albert and Alma (Hensler) Schuhmacher. On March 6, 1977 he was united in marriage with Evelyn D. Bork-Hemling in Columbus. Rodney was owner of Double S Fertilizer in Randolph for a number of years. He was also a farmer and salesman for Cargill Nutrena Feeds. Rodney was a faithful member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Fox Lake.

Survivors are his wife, Evelyn D. Schumacher of Randolph; stepsons, Randy (Kathy) Hemling of Beaver Dam, Gary (Lori) Hemling of Randolph, and Cal (Diane) Hemling of Beaver Dam; daughters, Sue (Greg) Lyons, Peggy (Kim) Kramer, both of Iowa, Nancy (Mike) Shaw of California, and Kathy (Leland) Adams of Iowa; sons, Randy (Rose) Schuhmacher and Keith (Pam) Schuhmacher, both of Iowa; very dear grandchildren, Rachel (Corey) Bradley, Robert Hemling (Megan Boomsma), Andrew (Shelly) Hemling, Aleshia Hemling (Clint Redeker), Taylor (Dan) Lange, Kayla Hemling (Tim Knight), Dustin (Leah) Hemling, Calvin (Heidi) Hemling, Lucas Hemling (special friend, Karys), Rebecca, Mark, Kari, Mark, Kristen, Seth, Shane, Samira, Jason, Brett, Derek, and Jordan; great grandchildren, Hunter, Cole, Emma, Maddie, Savannah, Griffin, Aidan, Kate, Nora, Odin, Payton, Chase, Connor, Lola, Austin, Emily, Ilyssa, Kendra, Kale, Brett, Hunter, Jersey, Ashley, Justin, Evelyn, Emery, Bennett, and Eden; sister-in-law, Ruth (Phil) Disrud; brother-in-law, Alfred (Rita) Bork; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers, LeRoy and Gordon.
