Obituary: Dorothy Jean Stutz

Dorothy Jean Stutz, age 83, of the town of Oak Grove passed away on Monday, January 26, 2015.

The visitation will be held at St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau on Friday, January 30, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until noon. The funeral service will follow at the church on Friday at noon with Rev. Paul Hirsch officiating. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

The former Dorothy Jean Watson was born on March 26, 1931 in Portage, Wisconsin to Walter and Dorothy (Richards) Watson. Dorothy was a 1949 graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  On June 10, 1950, she was united in marriage with Merlin R. Stutz at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Beaver Dam.

Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau where she was a member of the Ladies Aid.  She was also a member of the Evening Bell Homemakers Group and the Burnett Homemakers.  Dorothy enjoyed being a homemaker and was also the bookkeeper for Country Fresh Eggs, a wholesaler of mushrooms and eggs, which she and her husband operated for over 40 years.

Dorothy is survived by her children: Earl (Greta) Stutz of Beaver Dam, Linda Ganz of Beaver Dam, Randy Stutz of Juneau and Julie (fiancé Lynn Schwoch) Stutz of Juneau; six grandchildren, many great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Merlin, and her sister Gwendolyn Thornton.

Memorials for Dorothy may be directed to St. John’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau.
