Judith E. Wendt (nee Lacaeyse), age 69, of Reeseville, died Thursday, January 29, 2015 at UW Hospitals in Madison.

In keeping with Judy’s wishes, there will be no services.

Judy was born on March 1, 1945 to Cyril and Helen Lacaeyse and later graduated from Reeseville High School.  While in high school, Judy baby sat and worked in both a grocery store and canning factories; the money she earned helped pay her parents taxes and some of the family bills.  She was the oldest and was depended upon to watch the younger kids while mom and dad worked.  Judy also helped her younger brother with his paper route and tutored some children that needed help with their studies.  After graduating in 1963, she worked at the shoe factory in Watertown, then at Koplin in Fox Lake, and then at Johnson Controls (Baso) for 36 years before retiring in 2012.

Survivors include her daughter, Tonia Arpke of Tennessee; her best friend, Lesli Narr of Beaver Dam; her dog Livy; and her nephews, Mike and Mark Loeck.  Judy was preceded in death by her parents; her devoted sister, Margie Loeck in 1970; and her dearest brother, Larry Lacaeyse, who was killed in the Vietnam War in 1969.

Donations may be made in Judy’s name to Lesli Narr, and she will direct them to a worthy cause.
