Obituary: Orva E. Neumann

Orva E. Neumann, age 81, of Beaver Dam, died on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam.

The visitation will be at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam on Friday, March 6, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 1:45 p.m. The funeral service will follow at church on Friday at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Collin Vanderhoof officiating. Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Orva Esther Roeseler was born on July 18, 1933 in the Township of Oakfield to Paul and Lydia (Waldschmidt) Roeseler. She grew up on a farm with her parents and later they moved to a farm in the Township of Trenton, where she continued her education in grade school. She was confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun in 1947, after which she went to Waupun High School, graduating in 1952. After graduation, Orva worked in the shoe factory in Waupun. On June 20, 1953, she was united in marriage with Lloyd Neumann at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waupun. They moved to a farm in the Township of Trenton and she worked part-time at Green Giant in Fox Lake. Orva was a former member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in the Town of Trenton, and a current member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Orva was a devoted wife and a good mother to her children.

Survivors include her five children, LuAnn (Donald) Peirick, David (Jill) Neumann, Debra (Kevin) Doble, Barbara (James) Dykstra, and Donald Neumann; 12 grandchildren, Kimberly Burk (friend Ben Drews), Adam Burk, Lynn Peirick, Brian Peirick, Jessica (Nathan) Ott, Danielle (Donte) Davis, John Doble, Rachel (Daniel) Coxey, Melissa Dykstra, Tasha Dykstra, Benjamin (Monica) Neumann, and Sarah (Jason) Stegner; three great grandchildren, Desiree & Donte, Jr. Davis, Connor James Neumann, and Sawyer Ott; twin brother, Orval (MaryAnn) Roeseler; sister, Ardis Herman; brother, Delmar (Betty) Roeseler; other relatives and friends. Orva was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Pat Burk; a granddaughter, Amanda Neumann; her brothers Elmer Roeseler and Wilmer Roeseler; and sisters, Doris Loomans, Margaret Paskey, and Ruth Friesen.
