Grace Catherine Straseske was called to join the Lord on March 19, 2015 at Charleston House, Beaver Dam, Wisconsin. She was born Nov. 29, 1926 to Albert and Edna (Mertz) Benninger in the Town of Portland, Wisconsin and she grew up on the family farm outside of Reeseville. Grace was lifetime member of First United Church of Christ, Reeseville, WI. She married Bruce J. Straseske, and they were blessed with three sons, Dale, James and Steven.
Grace was preceded in death by her husband Bruce in 1990; her father Albert Benninger, her mother Edna Paquette and her stepfather William Paquette; siblings Harris Benninger, Leroy Benninger, Ruby Benninger, Ruth Kovalaske, Helen Klug, Shirley Klein and an infant brother, Donald Paquette.
She is survived by her sons Dale (Jolle) Straseske of Reeseville; James (Ruth) Straseske of Champaign, IL and Steven (Ann) Straseske of Round Rock, TX. She is further survived by six grandchildren: Anthony (Katie) Straseske, Oconomowoc, WI; Angela (Jason) Moe, Evansville, WI; Adam (Tina) Straseske Round Rock, TX; Jason (Amanda) Straseske, Jonah, TX; Capt. Crystal (Dusty) Dalton, US Army, Korea and Ross (Jancey) Straseske of Glenview, Illinois. Grace has eleven great grandchildren: Mason, Grayden and Colten Straseske, Oconomowoc WI; Holly, Edmund and Russell Moe of Evansville, IL; Jack and Ryan Straseske, Round Rock, TX; Zack and Blake Straseske, Jonah, TX and David (Davey) Straseske of Glenview, IL. Additional survivors include her sisters Gladys (William, deceased) Lau of Reeseville; Irene (Arden, deceased) Reith of Waukesha, WI and a sister-in-law Loriene (Leroy, deceased) Benninger of Reeseville, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A Funeral Service for Grace will be held on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 at 5:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Pastor Lois Rosko officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served at Cornerstone. Private family burial will take place on Wednesday at Reeseville Cemetery.
