Obituary: Carol R. Boviall

Carol R. Boviall, 96, peacefully went on to Glory while holding her daughter and granddaughter’s hands and surrounded by the love of her son-in-law on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Funeral Services for Carol will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Christopher Davis and David Dykstra officiating. A visitation will also be held on Monday, April 13th from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.  Interment will be at Spring Grove, Delavan, Wisconsin.

Carol Ruth was born on December 25, 1918 the daughter of Willard and Mary (Thomas) Rodman in Darien, WI; where she was raised and graduated from Darien Consolidated High School.  She married LeRoy T. Boviall Sr. in 1937 and they began their marriage engaged in farming in the area of Lake Lawn Lodge of Delavan, WI.  The marriage was blessed with three children: Mary, Leroy Thomas Jr. and Jeanne.

 After nine years of marriage, LeRoy died and Carol and her children moved to Darien, WI.  While Carol lived in Darien she worked in area factories, restaurants, Wisconsin Bell Telephone Company, and Walls Department store.  She moved to Beaver Dam in 1982 and enjoyed working at Herberger’s Department store.  Carol rejoiced and relied on her Christian faith through the wonderful and difficult times in life.  She was active in her church, civic work, and a volunteer at Beaver Dam Community Hospital.  Much of Carol’s life was focused on church worship, Bible studies, singing in the choir and being a Sunday school teacher.  She also enjoyed writing beautiful poetry and painting ceramics. 

Carol’s greatest enjoyment came when spending time with her beloved children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  The memories of those happenings will remain cherished by one and all. 

Carol is survived by her children: Mary (Richard) Jacobs of Beaver Dam WI.,   LeRoy Thomas Jr. (Carole) Boviall of Graham NC., and Jeanne (Russ) Hammond of Boise ID.

She is further survived by her eight grandchildren: Mark (Michelle) Jacobs, Christea Jacobs (Jeff Roate), Juliana (Bruce) McCrary, Kelly (Kim) Boviall, Vickie (Ed) Karwinski, Tonya (Mark) Westphal, Camille Hammond, and Jacob Hammond (Eric Dormitt);  eleven great grandchildren: Bryan, Megan, Sarah, Madeline, Emily, Justine, Aryanna, Nicholas, Andrew, Joseph, and Sydney and two step great grandchildren: Marisa and Matt; sister-in-law Gloria Nystrom of Delavan WI., and other nieces and nephews, cousins, relatives and friends.  

Carol was preceded in death by her parents; her husband LeRoy in 1946; her sister, Marjorie Tracy; her brother, Willard Rodman; sister-in- law, Esther Rodman; brother-in-law, Wyman Tracy. 

Carol’s family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Director and staff of Beaver Dam Golden Living Center Alzheimer’s Wing also Generations Hospice.  Each of you provided the ultimate in quality care for our beloved.  Trusting the simple words of “Thank You” convey the depth of sincerity of which they are spoken.  Each of you have enriched Carol’s life and ours also. 

Memorials may be made to Faith Community Church, Grace Presbyterian Church, or Golden Living Center.
