Obituary: Josephine H. Tiede

Josephine H. Tiede, age 91 of Portage and formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at Divine Savior Healthcare.

Josephine was born on January 7, 1924 at home near Reedsburg, the daughter of Amanda (Schroeder) and Reinhold Struck. She married Lester D. Tiede on June 21, 1947. She worked in Milwaukee during World War II, where she inspected artillery shells. She held several different jobs, including farming. She later worked at Kolpins in Fox Lake and the Beaver Dam Hospital. She enjoyed embroidery, plastic canvas, playing cards, gardening and traveling with their RV friends. She also had many pet dogs that she really enjoyed.

Josephine is survived by her children, Carolyn (Dennis) Bush, Eugene (Evelyn) Tiede; six grandsons, Jeff (Jolie) Bush, Craig (Kozue) Bush, Dale (Angie) Bush, Larry (Barb) Tiede, Michael (Yuri) Tiede and Russell Tiede; nine great-grandchildren, Tyler, Keegan, Aika, Mika, Reika, Hannah, Madilynn, Sasha and Victor.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Lester on March 18, 2015, her brother, Richard (Dorothy) Struck, and a grandson Matthew Bush.

A memorial gathering for Josephine will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 10:00 until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served at Cornerstone.

The family would like to thank the staff at Our House Assisted Living, Hamilton Park Place Assisted Living and the staff at Divine Savior Healthcare for all their caretaking of both Jo and Les.
