Erna Stibb Manning, 84, of Beaver Dam passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, May 12, 2015, and went to be with her Lord and Savior.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam, with Pastor Philip Heyer officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday, May 15 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam and on Saturday, May 16 at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
Erna was born the daughter of George and Katherina (Haugg) Hall on December 28, 1930 in Pearsall, TX. The family relocated to Wisconsin when their children were young. Erna was united in marriage to George F. Stibb on December 2, 1950. He preceded her in death in 1979. Later, she was united in marriage to Harry Manning, on October 25, 1985.
She was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Erna had a lifelong love of music. She loved dancing, and playing the accordion, piano and organ. She taught piano and accordion to many. She also entertained at the nursing homes by playing the accordion for the residents. Erna and her husband, George, owned and operated a dairy farm south of Rio for many years. Later, they owned and operated the Beaver Motel.
Erna and Harry enjoyed traveling together touring many different States and also made numerous trips to Branson. She and Harry enjoyed taking care of their grandchildren and attending many of their events. She also enjoyed hearing her son-in-law, Uncle Ozzie, entertain.
Erna is survived by her husband Harry Manning of Beaver Dam and her six children: Shirley (Ron) Banks of Portage and their children: Ann Bleich (Cary Dahl) and Mary (Preston) Crook and their children: Cody, Katlyn, Stephanie, and Whitney; Darlene Stibb of NC; Roger Stibb of Helenville, WI and his children: Matthew and Heather (Steven) Hurth; Judy (Rick) Lawson of Hudson, WI and their children: Michael (Aletha), Kevin, and Andrew (Kristin); Rick (Rochelle) Stibb of Beaver Dam and their children: Whitney, Melissa, Joshua, Jessica, and Jamie; and Roy Stibb of Beaver Dam; step-daughters: Karen (Sam) Shananaquet of Beaver Dam and their children: Lindsey (Josiah) Sherron and their son Samuel James, and Veronica, Kristine (Steven) Vaughn of Oregon, WI, Diane (Jay) Exline of CO; her step-son Patrick (Alicia) Manning of Milwaukee and their children: Declan and Louis; her sister, Emma Bennett, of Fall River, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Erna is preceded in death by her parents, her first husband George, and her great grandson Sullivan Danger Sherron, sisters: Anna Oelke and Dora Wuerch and brothers: George Hall and Carl Hall.
Memorial donations in Erna’s name may be directed to St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
