June Marian Boelter, age 86 of Markesan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at home surrounded by family and friends.

June was born on June 17, 1928 in Markesan, the daughter of William Francis and Bertha Pauline E. (Maas) Willey. She graduated from Markesan High School in 1946. On April 20, 1947, June was united in marriage to Lyle Boelter at Markesan Methodist Church.  They were married for 68 years.

She had many gifts.  In her younger years she worked at the Markesan Theater and local canning factories.  She then worked as the Office Manager for Equity for many years, followed by waitressing at the Lanterns Supper Club and Manager of the Meals on Wheels in Markesan for Green Lake County.  She was busy on the farm and raising children while working. She was always on the go until her health slowly declined.

June loved dancing (and she was great at it), listening to country music and gospel, attending concerts and musicals, bowling, visiting, playing games (didn’t like losing), taking care of the elderly as well as her family and friends, traveling, eating desserts (banana cream pie was her favorite), feeding her Orioles, flowers, and reading.  She had a beautiful smile that would light up the room when she walked in and charmed everyone with her great personality.  She was opinionated at times but we all found that she was a beautiful person inside and out.  She had a big heart and will be dearly missed.

June is survived by her husband, Lyle of Markesan; her children, Steve Boelter (special friend Lynda Zacharias) of Markesan; Tim (Cindy) Boelter of Markesan; Trish Boelter (fiancé Brian Gasser) of Lodi; daughter-in-law, Sue Boelter of Markesan; grandchildren, Jodi (Todd) Kobishop, Toni (Mike) Timm, Todd Boelter, Chad (Marsha) Boelter, Heath (Kelly) Boelter, Tonya (Chris) Forer and Luke Boelter; 9 great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

June was preceded in death by her parents; two sons, Mike and Matt; her brother, Clarence Willey; her sister, Vivian Gerritson and other relatives.

A funeral service for June will be held on Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. County Line Lutheran Church, W10505 Cty Rd AW, Markesan with Rev. Bruce Engebretson officiating. Burial will follow the service at Lake Maria Cemetery, Town of Manchester.  Lunch provided afterwards.

Visitation will be held on Monday, June 15, from 4 – 8 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan and also on Tuesday prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
