Obituary: John W. Fabisch

John W. Fabisch, 77, of Beaver Dam and formerly of Juneau passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at his home. 

A visitation for John will be held on Sunday, July 19, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam and on Monday, July 20, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.  Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam with the Rev. Paul Stratman and Rev. Paul Schupmann officiating.

John was born on June 10, 1938 in Beaver Dam the son of Edward and Helen (Tulloch) Fabisch.  He was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School.  He was married to Lucille Fehrmann.  He then married Jean Braunschweig in September, 1971. She preceded him in death.  He was then married to Pat Rieman Bachofen in August, 1986.

John owned and operated a tavern in Juneau and worked, as a salesmen, for eight years with the Phillips Liquor Company.  John, together with his wife Pat, managed the Juneau Community Center for over 10 years. While managing the Community Center, John, along with this family, enjoyed hosting the Annual Community Christmas Dinner. John and Pat also owned and operated PJ’s Family Restaurant in Juneau.  John served as Mayor of Juneau for six years and was currently serving as a Dodge County Board Supervisor. While living in Juneau, John was also a member of the Juneau Lions Club.

John had been a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Juneau and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam and had served on Church Council for both congregations.  He was currently a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. 

John loved spending time with his family and goofing around with his grandkids.  He was a fun and loving guy whose big personality, sense of humor and huge heart will be missed by everyone who knew him. He was an avid Packer, Brewers, Badger and Arkansas Razorback fan.  He also enjoyed snowmobiling, bowling, golfing and playing cribbage throughout the years. He was giving of his time and talents to various groups in the community and to anyone who needed his help.

John is survived by his wife, Pat; his children: Deb (Ken) Wolfram of Juneau, Brenda (Curt Apel) Fabisch of Colgate, Kari (Ryan) Justmann of Juneau and Kristin Fabisch of Beaver Dam; his step children: Greg Pahl, Susan (Jeff) Eberle, Diane (David) Braker and Mitch Kuhn, husband of the late Karen Kuhn, all of Beaver Dam; 5 grandchildren, nine step grandchildren, three step great grandchildren and another expected in January; his two brothers: Keith (Carol) Fabisch of Beaver Dam and Charles (Barbara) Fabisch of Colorado.  He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Jean, and his brother Edward J. Fabisch; step daughters: Karen Kuhn and Beth Bachofen.
