Obituary: Kay L. Riehbrandt

Kay L. Riehbrandt, age 47 of Lomira, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at home.

Kay was born in Beaver Dam on April 29, 1968, the daughter of Clarence and Shirley (Hughes) Wolc Jr. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1986. On August 12, 1989, she was united in marriage to Dan Riehbrandt in Beaver Dam and their marriage was blessed with two children, Matthew and Molly. Kay loved her family dearly and enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom after working in accounting for Wells Manufacturing in Fond du Lac during her earlier years. She also worked as a crossing guard in Lomira.

Kay had a strong faith and was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Lomira, where she taught Sunday School. She was very outgoing, fun-loving, and strong-willed. Throughout life, she was very dedicated to her family and maintained a positive outlook. Kay enjoyed shopping, gardening, playing softball, bowling, and painting. She loved animals, especially dogs and had a great fondness for Chevy Camaros. She was a loving wife and mother, and she will be dearly missed.

Kay is survived by her husband, Dan and children, Matthew and Molly, all of Lomira; her mother, Shirley (Lyle) Jaehnke of Beaver Dam; her siblings, Rodney (Doreen) Wolc of Beaver Dam and Jennifer (Brent) Gibson of Waukesha; step-brothers and sister, Gary (Jan) Jaehnke of Beaver Dam, Cheryl (Terry) Bilke of Carmel, IN and Dan (Jenny) Jaehnke of Tyler, TX; sisters-in-law, Amy Carpenter of Manitowoc, Karen (Scott) Drake of Beaver Dam; her god-children, Chandler and Cayden Gibson; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kay was preceded in death by her father, Clarence Wolc Jr in 1995 and other relatives.

A Funeral Service for Kay will be held on Saturday, August 1, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 300 Church St., Lomira with Rev. Rom Pegram officiating. Burial will take place at Salem Cemetery, Lomira.

Visitation for Kay will take place on Friday, July 31 from 4 – 8 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam and also on Saturday prior to the service at church, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
