John T. W. Baumann, age 88, of Beaver Dam, died Monday, August 24, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Beloit

Visitation for John will be at Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 North Crystal Lake Road in Beaver Dam, on Friday, August 28, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., where the Beaver Dam American Legion will conduct a walk through at 6:30 pm.  On Saturday, August 29, 2015, friends may call at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m and funeral services will begin at 11:00 a.m.  Rev. Mark Jensen will officiate.  Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the Town of Trenton, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

John was born on April 21, 1927 in the Town of Hubbard, Dodge County, Wisconsin to the late Ernst Baumann and Lena (Schmitt) Radloff.  He enlisted in the Merchant Marine where he served for over 3 years in both the European and Pacific Theaters of war.  He was stationed on the SS George Eastman, SS Peter Desmet, SS Molden Victory, and the SS Marines Shark.  John was united in marriage with Jean Macksam; she preceded him in death.  He was later united in marriage with Marion Ullrich, who also preceded him in death.  John drove semi for many years.  He enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening, working in his yard, coin collecting, reading magazines, and taking car rides everyday.  He loved to visit with family and friends and would stop at Wodill’s Bar to play euchre and get in the Packer pool.  He also enjoyed stopping at McDonalds for nuggets and coffee with cream.  He had a great sense of humor and was a gentle, easy going soul who loved to make people smile.  He will be remembered for always complimenting people for various things such as what they were wearing or their jewelry. 

Survivors include his daughter, Judy (Tracey) Voth; his son, Jimi (Connie) Baumann; grandchildren, Michael (Shawn) Voth, Kelly Voth, and Randy (Tracy) Voth; great grandchildren, Ebee Voth, Bobbi (Tyler) Voth, Koltyn & Kyler Voth, and Becca & Terry Voth; great great granddaughter to be; his sister, Rose Christian; sisters-in-law, Shirley Baumann and Bernice Baumann; special friends, Kelly & Tracy Haucke and sons Cole & Ethan, Wayne and Barb Bortz, and Marilyn Dixon; other relatives and friends.  John was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife and second wife; brothers, Ernst “Fritz”, Jerome “Sparky”, Donald, Arnold and an infant brother; sisters, Mildred Baumann and Ida Haberman; and brother-in-law, Marvin Christian.

The family wishes to extend their thanks to the Beloit Regional Hospice for all the help and loving care shown to us this past year.
