Steven Bruce was born on May 6, 1950 the son of Max and Frances (Rueth) Langfeldt in Loyal, Wisconsin. As a young boy, Steve and his brothers worked with their father in his business, Max Langfeldt and Sons Contractors. He was a 1968 graduate of Loyal High School. He had been employed as a Deputy with Clark County Sherriff Department. For many years, he had been an insurance claims adjuster working for a variety of different businesses and later owning and operating Langfeldt Claim Service.
On September 16, 1995, he was united in marriage to Jody Hayward Tuel at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, where he was a member and had served as a junior warden. Steve always looked forward to meeting up with the “Crew” for morning coffee. He loved all his children and adored his grandchildren. In his younger years, he enjoyed photography, sightseeing, and traveling. Throughout his life, he shared his humor and teasing with those he loved.
Steve was a man of high integrity and a workaholic. Helping others came naturally and was part of the fabric of who he was. He was always someone who could be counted on to help others. One of the last things Steve did on Friday morning, was come to the aid of the bus driver and students on the bus that went off the road. Steve’s heart was full of love and kindness throughout his life and encompassed the man he was.
