Obituary: Vira V. Neitzel

Vira V. Neitzel, Reeseville, passed away on Wednesday, October 14, 2015 at Golden Living Watertown at the age of 94. 

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 19, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Salem Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lowell with the Rev. Paul Vander Galien officiating. Friends and relatives may call and pay their respects at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Lowell, Dodge County, Wisconsin.

Neitzel was born December 25, 1920 in the town of Lowell, Dodge County, daughter of William and Anna Prietz.  She married to Harold Neitzel on June 1, 1941 in Trinity Lutheran Church in Reeseville and were married fifty-eight years prior to his passing. 

She was a lifelong resident of the Reeseville area and helped her husband Harold run the dairy farm most of her life.  She was a graduate of Reeseville High School and was an excellent pianist.   She would entertain by playing at family functions.  She also worked at the Reeseville Shoe Factory as well as the Shoe Factory in Beaver Dam and spent many hours with her best friend Molly Marsch of Lowell. Although her four boys did not always notice, she was always there and watching out for her sons.

Survivors include her four sons, Edward (Helen) Madison, Don (Nancy) Pewaukee, William (Sheila) Oshkosh, and Robert, Watertown; 10 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was proceeded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, and other immediate family. 

Special thanks to Rainbow Hospice and Golden Living Center where she was a resident for the past four years.   Vira’s family is especially grateful for our friend, Kimberly Nicholas for the loving support and kind care of Vira not only for this past week but for the years at Golden Living.
