Nancy Kasper, age 75 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at Beaver Dam Community Hospital. She was born on March 4, 1940, in Milwaukee, WI, the only child of Monroe and Gladys (Bergerson) Poggenburg, who preceded her in death.  She graduated from Divine Savior High School, Milwaukee in 1958 and attended Marquette University from 1958-1960. She graduated from Carroll College in Waukesha in 1962, where she met the love of her life, David W. Kasper. They married in 1963 at Christ King Church in Wauwatosa, WI. She taught First Grade from 1962-64 at Marcy Elementary School in Menomonee Falls.  After she and David started having a family, she became a full time mom. Nancy often said that her favorite days were when she was a stay-at-home mom with her children. After living in Milwaukee, Mukwonago and Menomonee Falls, they moved in 1968 to Beaver Dam, WI where David taught math at Wayland Academy. Nancy is survived by her husband, David, three sons, Timothy (Beth Powers), Moscow, Russia, Paul (Imelda), Wilmington, NC, William (Rebecca), and three grandchildren, Sam, Theresa and Caleb in Ripon, WI.

She worked in the Beaver Dam School System for more than 20 years as a teacher’s aide. She loved to downhill ski and made many trips up north and out west with Wayland students and her family. She was a member of Saint Katharine Drexel Parish and for many years helped with Altar Linens. She was a member of AAUW and enjoyed writing their newsletter. She was a PAL in the Beaver Dam School System, delivered Meals on Wheels, and was a member of WEA, BDAAA, and BDACT.

She enjoyed being with her children and their wives, and especially her grandchildren.  She always loved being a “Grandma”, and was looking forward to being a “Great-Grandma”. She loved traveling both in the US and throughout the world.  Her other favorite pastimes were playing cards, knitting, reading, gardening, quilting and the computer.  Her favorite was making photo books on her “Mac” about family memories and travel destinations.
