Obituary: Nichole “Nicky” L. Abler

Nichole “Nicky” L. Abler, 44, of Beaver Dam died on Wednesday, October 21, 2015 at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A visitation for Nichole will be held on Saturday, October 24th  from 10:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam.  A funeral service will also be held on Saturday, October 24th at 1:00 p.m. at the church with the Rev. Philip Heyer officiating.  Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Nichole Lee was born the daughter of Peter J. and Darlene K. (Bilke) Abler on January 11, 1971 in Beaver Dam.

Nichole was a member of St. Stephen’s Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.   She had been employed at the Walmart Distribution Center in Beaver Dam.  She loved to go bowling and there will be a special benefit for her held on Sunday, November 8th at 9:30 a.m. at Tower Lanes in Beaver Dam.  She also enjoyed going to the Beaver Dam Raceway and watching the races, especially when her nephew Christopher was racing.  Nicky loved to spend time with her family and friends. Nicky was an avid reader, especially of western romance novels.  Flower gardening was another one of her passions and she truly loved the deck her fiancé built for her outside their home.

Nicky is survived by her daughters: Shania Abler and Kylie Hupf at home; her parents Peter and Darlene Abler; her sister Stacy (John) Prust; her niece Allison Prust (Tim Klug), her nephew Christopher Prust, Nicky’s fiancé Jesse Schmidt and his daughter Jayda Schmidt; grandpa Warren Bilke; godparents Dick and Judy Abler and Shirley Bilke; special cousin Heather and her husband J.J. and their children Liberty and godson Lincoln; also nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents Alfred and Josephine Abler and Maxine Bilke also other special family members.

The family would like to thank the staff of the Beaver Dam Community Hospital and ER as well as the med surg units and Dr. Anne DeGreve for all of their exceptional care that was given to Nicky and to her family. Also, thank you to the oncology unit at UW Madison Hospital as well as to Jolene Hiemstra for the love and support that was shown to Nicky and her family.
