Obituary: Robert Joseph Krause

Robert Joseph Krause, age 69, of Beaver Dam, died on Friday, November 6, 2015 at St. Mary’s Hospital in Madison.

The visitation for Bob will be at Koepsell-Murray in Beaver Dam on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. There will also be a visitation on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. The funeral service will follow on Thursday at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Terry Larson officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Robert Joseph Krause, son of Alfred and Mildred (Bolin) Krause, was born on August 24, 1946 in Oakland, California. He was raised in Beaver Dam and was a 1964 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Bob joined the United States Army in 1966, serving in the reserves as a Food Specialist and was honorably discharged in 1972. He received a Certificate of Course Completion from the Beaver Dam Vo-Tech in Quality Foods in 1971 and worked at Kraft Foods in Beaver Dam. Bob retired in 2001, from the US Postal Service, delivering mail to Rural Route 4 in Beaver Dam. He moved to Wisconsin Dells to enjoy retirement, but continued to work part time doing maintenance for Christmas Mountain. Bob enjoyed visiting with friends and storytelling, and he liked to try his luck at Ho Chunk from time to time.

Survivors are his children, Michael (Jennifer) Krause of Stevens Point, Lisa (Dan) Hengst of Cottage Grove, and Mark (DeDe) Krause of Appleton; grandchildren, Lillian and Samuel Krause; sister, Karen Krause of Beaver Dam; brothers, Keith (Mary) Krause and Steve Krause, all of Beaver Dam; nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, John in infancy.
