Dodge County is thrilled to be hosting “Wisconsin’s Annual First Tree Cutting with the 68th Alice in Dairyland” Friday November 13 at the Propst Tree Farm in Beaver Dam.

Nearly 140 fourth grade students from around the County (who “won” the chance to participate by entering a persuasive piece to the “tree cutting” contest) will be in attendance to learn more about Wisconsin’s Agriculture and the Christmas tree industry, as well as having the chance to visit the farm’s effigy mounds and meet/learn from Wisconsin’s Agriculture Ambassador, Teyanna Loether.

Following the learning activities at the farm including the ceremonial “first tree cutting” by Alice in Dairyland, the group will travel to the Dodge County Historical Society in Beaver Dam where the tree will be decorated with student-made ornaments and displayed outside for all to see.

This special “Tree Cutting” event is being held in Dodge County as we lead up to the 2016 Alice in Dairyland Finals being hosted by Dodge County on May 5-7, 2016.
