Obituary: James C. “Jim/Jimbo” Legnar

James C. “Jim/Jimbo” Legnar, 66, of Columbus passed away unexpectedly at his home.

James was born the son of Casper and Maxine “Jackie” (Steinhorst) Legnar on December 20, 1948 in Reedsburg, WI.  He attended Reedsburg High School.  Jim will be remembered as a hard worker.  He was employed at Grede Foundry in Reedsburg and later with Maysteel in Columbus for many years.  Jim was married to JoAnn Legnar in June of 1969 and later married to Lynn Anderson in May of 1993.  Jim loved his family and they meant the world to him.  He enjoyed the outdoors and spending time with his friends as well.  

Jim is survived by his daughters: Connie (Jeff) Borkenhagen and Sheila Janney; his sons: Kevin and Justin Legnar; his step-son, David Anderson; his siblings: Jolene, Jeanette, Myles, and Curtis; 10 grandchildren; and further survived by other relatives and friends.  

He was preceded in death by mother, Jackie Kraft; his wife Lynn Anderson; his daughter, Jessica Greenwood; his granddaughter, Brittany Legnar; and his sister, Jean Mohr.

A gathering of family and friends will take place at JoDee O’s, 220 E. James St., Columbus on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 beginning at 2 p.m.
