Obituary: Robert A. Kemp

Robert A. Kemp of Beaver Dam died peacefully on November 20, 2015 at the age of 91.

Robert was born November 9, 1924 in Milwaukee, WI to Frank and Esther.  Robert graduated from South Division High School in 1942.  He married Dorothy Kraftchak on May 29, 1954.  Robert worked for Blatz and Pabst Breweries before retiring to Florida where he and Dorothy lived for 27 years before returning to Wisconsin. While in Florida, Robert owned and operated Kemp’s Coin Laundry and tried his hand at real estate. In addition, he and Dorothy owned several small orange groves which he enjoyed overseeing. 

Robert was preceded in death by Dorothy; his beloved wife of 61 years.  He is survived by his nephew, Don Smerlinder, niece Laurie Patrick, goddaughter, Mary Hertel, dear friend Jim Imme and several other relatives and friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 16, 2015 from 10:30 a.m. until the Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Michael J. Erwin will be officiating and inurnment was held at St. John the Baptist Cemetery in Princeton, Wisconsin.
