Obituary: Evelyn “Busha” A. Pritchard

Evelyn “Busha” A. Pritchard, age 91 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Clearview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Juneau.

Evelyn was born on February 22, 1924 in Beaver Dam, the daughter of John and Katherine (Malak) Glodowski. She graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1942. On February 7, 1948, she was united in marriage to John Pritchard. She worked as a baker and cake decorator at Piggly Wiggly in Juneau for over 20 years. She was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and American Legion Post #146 Auxiliary. 

Evelyn’s love for her family was very deep. She cherished her children, grandchildren and great-grandchilden and treasured all of the time they spent together. She enjoyed painting and traveling in her RV. Evelyn was adventurous and loved learning new things, like learning to drive in her 40’s and learning to swim in her 60’s. Her kind spirit and fun demeanor will be deeply missed.

Evelyn is survived by her children, Jack Pritchard of Beaver Dam, Jerry (Judi) Pritchard of Brookfield, Jeff (Torey) Pritchard of Dousman, Elaine (Tim) Ahearn of Beaver Dam and Evonne (Jason) Schmitz of Fond du Lac; her grandchildren, Allison Pritchard, Meagan Pritchard, Joe (Ashley) Pritchard, Amanda Pritchard, Johnny Pritchard, Jared (Kayla) Ahearn, Justin (Kayla Kittleson) Ahearn and Austin Baatz; great-grandchildren, Aiden, Parker, Cameron, Talyn and Holden; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, four brothers, six sisters and other relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Evelyn will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at St. Katharine Drexel Parish, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam with Father Mike Erwin as celebrant. Visitation will take place prior to the Mass at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Michael’s Catholic Cemetery, town of Beaver Dam, followed by a luncheon to be served at Cornerstone.
