David “Dave” J. Schuett, age 62 of rural Juneau, passed away suddenly after a short illness on Monday, March 7, 2016 at UW-Hospital in Madison.

Dave was born on April 28, 1953 in Watertown to Lawrence and Eleanor (Neu) Schuett. He was united in marriage to Ronda Krause on April 16, 1988 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Clyman. He worked as a forklift operator at Seneca Foods in Clyman for over 25 years. Dave was an early-riser, always known to be up bright and early watching Mike & Mike in the Morning with a fresh pot of coffee. He was an all-around handyman and enjoyed working on cars and tinkering with other projects. He spent his free time gardening, fishing, grilling out and feeding the birds outside. He was quite the storyteller and friends always looked forward to his random phone calls to pass time and discuss news and politics. He was a sports fan and especially enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Packers. He also liked watching Deadliest Catch and Ice Road Truckers. His cat family had a special place in his heart, especially Baby. He spent many hours playing cards and board games with his granddaughters – the Barbie and Mermaid games were their favorites – and he could always be counted on to fill water balloons before their numerous water balloon fights.

Dave is survived by his wife Ronda of Juneau; his daughter, Courtney (Bryan Ronning) Schuett of Richland Center; his step-children, Jennifer (James) Dogs of Oakfield, Brian (Susie Schellschmidt) Schmitt of Sutton, AK and Michelle Schmitt of Juneau; two granddaughters, Olivia Downey and Haily Dogs; his mother, Eleanor of Juneau; his siblings, Dennis of Juneau, Diane (Nick) Juckem of Eau Claire, Donald of Juneau, Debra of Waukesha, Duane of Juneau, Douglas of Watertown, Dawn (Glenn) Hoffman of Farmington, MN and Dean of Juneau; and further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, his sister Donna, Lucky the cat and other relatives.

A Mass of Christian Burial for Dave will be celebrated on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 11 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 714 Church St., Clyman with Father Rick Wendell as Celebrant. Burial will take place at St. Isadore’s Cemetery, Clyman and a luncheon will be served back at church.
