What are Mobile Pantries?

The Fair Association of Dodge County will again provide its Fairgrounds facilities for free to support Southern Wisconsin’s Second Harvest Food Bank in their goal to end hunger. These facilities will host the Mobile Foodbank and Pantry scheduled for the second Saturday of every month.

The local business owners have provided their generous contributions to this program by paying for the plumbing, plowing, and parking preparations at the venue.

This has all been possible because we believe that Together We will be the Solution that ends Hunger.

To ensure that the event goes smoothly, Beaver Dams K&B Tree and Lawn Care are offering their snow plowing services at no charge. The Watertowns Environmental Specialists will also generously donate their portable toilets services for the people attending the function.

The organizers of the event would like to inform all members of the community who would like to benefit from the event of the following:

The event will be held every second Saturday of every month and it will start at 10 AM. The registration of the beneficiaries will begin at 9:45 AM.

The food will be distributed in the shelter situated under the facility’s grandstand.

All beneficiaries are advised to use the facility’s entrance on High Point Road at Highway 33.

The attendees will not be required to provide any proof of residency, or identification. They will also not be required to register in advance. All everyone is advised to dress warmly because the distribution building will not be heated. All beneficiaries are also advised to bring enough bags, boxes, and containers to carry the food. For more information, please visit https://www.secondharvestmadison.org/

The following are the Food Pantry’s 2016 upcoming events (they will all be conducted on the second Saturdays):

  • March 12th

  • April 9th

  • May 14th

  • June 11th

Please be advised that for logistical purposes none of the above scheduled stops will be cancelled or postponed due to poor weather. There may only be exceptions where roads become unsafe for travel. Anyone who’s in doubt can get confirmation on possible cancellations through the Southern Wisconsin’s Second Harvest Food Bank dedicated hotline. All attendees should use their judgment when travelling over wet or icy roads.
