Renee A. Franke age 78 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.
Renee was born on November 10, 1937 in Columbus to Sturley and Luella (Warncke) Selk. She was a 1956 graduate of Randolph High School and later went to Columbia County Normal School in 1956 – 1957 and U.W. Oshkosh. Renee taught at a country school on Healy Rd. near Cambria and also went on to teach at other schools in the area. On December 30, 1978, she was united in marriage to Alan M. Franke at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Renee loved reading, doing word searches, making baby blankets, telling stories and getting her nails done by her granddaughter. She truly adored being a grandma and great-grandma and cherished the time that she spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Renee is survived by her three children, Anne (Daniel) Pearson of Beaver Dam, Amy (David) Breckheimer of Sherwood, WI, Jamie Franke of Portland, OR; grandchildren, Craig (Seval), Brianne (Aaron), Kayla (special friend Kevin), Stephanie (special friend Andrew), Troy (special friend Leah), Christopher (Nicole), Briar (Michelle) and Jaryd; great-grandchildren, Ceren, Angelina, Anson, Avelynn, LJ (Luella Jo), Benjamin and Brooklyn; two brothers, Vernon (Joan) Selk of Randolph, Steven (Karla) Selk of Cambria and her beloved sister, Daune Wiersma of Sun Prairie. She is survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents, husband Al, two sons, Norm Jenkins and David “Woody” Jenkins; two brothers, Kerwin and Sheldon Selk along with other relatives.
A Memorial Gathering for Renee will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 6:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam.
