Obituary: Sylvia L. Lifke

Sylvia L. Lifke, 100, a resident of Prairie Ridge Assisted Living, Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Friday, March 25, 2016.

A visitation for Sylvia will be held on Wednesday, March 30th from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.  A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Grace Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chris Davis officiating.  Entombment will be at Wisconsin Memorial Park.

Sylvia Lydia was born on August 2, 1915 the daughter of Fred and Frieda (Zastrow) Griessmeyer.  On December 11, 1949, she was united in marriage to Joseph A. Lifke in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Sylvia was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church in Beaver Dam.  She enjoyed crocheting and painting beautiful pictures.  She loved to go fishing, swimming and traveling.  Sylvia enjoyed her “Round Robin Card Club” with the ladies.  She was also a charter member and past president of the Gross-Yaksh V.F.W. Post 6498 Ladies Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children: Donald Lifke of Albuquerque, NM, Sharron Roffers of Beaver Dam and Gail Wangerin of Oconomowoc; nine grandchildren: Joseph, Donald, Julie, Susan, Terrance, Sharryl, Scott, Joanna and Rich; 13 great grandchildren: Chad, Nicholas, Lauren, Jason, Jaush, Justin, Erica, Natalie, Nathan, Ashlyn, Amanda, Dylan and Ashley; six great great grandchildren: Shanna, Cadance, Jullian, Nevaeh, Daisha and Gabryel.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joseph in 1999, infant son Ronald, grandson Darryl, infant great grandson Quinton and her brother LeRoy Griessmeyer.
