Obituary: Caroline M. Schultz

Caroline M. Schultz, age 86, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at the Charleston House, Beaver Dam, WI.

Caroline was born January 17, 1929 in Watertown, Wisconsin, the daughter of Fred and Alma (Winkler) Ruegg.  She was married to Raymond “Beetle” Schultz on April 20, 1957 at the Lowell Methodist Church, Lowell, Wisconsin.  They owned and operated “Beetle’s Bar” in Lowell.  After moving to Beaver Dam, Caroline worked at Jay Kay Fabrics and was the deli manager at Sentry Foods and later Gilmore’s Piggly Wiggly until her retirement.  She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

A devoted family woman and friend, she will be missed by many.  Other than her family…her greatest passions were cooking and entertaining.  She loved the holidays and took great pride in decorating and hosting parties for her family and friends.

Caroline is survived by her children, Bob Braman, Waukesha, Kathy (Jeff) Mallon, Clermont, FL, Wendy Casey, Terre Haute, IN and Cheryl (Bruce) Frederick, Beaver Dam; 4 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Emmaline Lenius, Watertown and brother, Lawrence Ruegg, Victoria, MN; special friends, Mel Tielens, Beaver Dam and Sandy Braman, Beaver Dam; further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Caroline was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1987; her parents; a grandson Jason Braman; brother-in-law, Ronald Lenius and sister-in-law, Carol Ruegg.

A memorial gathering for Caroline will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 12:00 p.m. (noon) with Rev. Bryan Lagerstam officiating. Immediately following the service, a luncheon will be served and inurnment will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown.

Memorials in Caroline’s name may be directed to the charity of one’s choice.

The family would like to thank Dr. Timothy Rentmeester, the Hospice staff at Beaver Dam Community Hospital and the caring staff at the Charleston House.  Your kindness and support will never be forgotten.
