Obituary: Irene H. Moritz

Irene H. Moritz, 95, of Beaver Dam passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at Hillside Manor. 

A memorial service for Irene will be held on Monday, May 9, 2016 at Noon at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with the Deacon Ed Cody officiating.  A visitation will be held prior from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service also at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Irene was born on March 26, 1921 the daughter of Ruppert and Hildegarde (Weinberger) Fischer in Beaver Dam.  On October 14, 1939, she was united in marriage to Elmer Moritz at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.

Irene was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.  She had been employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital and then later Hillside Hospital for 20 years.  She had volunteered at the Beaver Dam Care Center for five years and had also been a volunteer for the American Red Cross for 21 years.

Irene is survived by her granddaughter Laura Williamson of Green Bay and her grandson David J. (Beth) Williamson of Spring Hill, TN; her great grandchildren: Alyssa and Sean; her sisters: Elizabeth Berg of Milwaukee and Rosemary McMulloch of Milwaukee.  She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Elmer, daughter Judy Williamson and son-in-law David C. Williamson, infant daughter Elizabeth, four sisters: Marie Driefurst, Frances Briglevich, Ruth Benka and Virginia Rulo and two brothers: Ruppert Fischer and Jim Fischer.

Memorial donations in Irene’s name may be made to St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam.
