Obituary: Howard P. Wolfgang

Howard P. Wolfgang, 84, of the township of Beaver Dam passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 surrounded by his family at the Beaver Dam Community Hospital.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 16, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Koepsell-Murray Funeral Home, N7199 N. Crystal Lake Road, Beaver Dam with Pastor Wayne Morrison officiating. A visitation will also be held on Monday from 11:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home with the Beaver Dam American Legion paying their respects at 1:30 p.m.  Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.  Graveside military honors will be conducted by the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146.

Howard was born on August 27, 1931, the son of Paul and Lola Wolfgang in Augusta, WI.  On June 30, 1956, he was united in marriage to June Breitenstein.

Howard had owned and operated restaurants in Juneau and later was employed with Universal Foods in Juneau until his retirement.  After retirement, he had been employed with Pizza Hut in Beaver Dam. 

He had served in the United States Army in the Meteorology department.  He was a member of the Beaver Dam American Legion Post #146. He loved animals and enjoyed gardening.  Howard will always be remembered for taking care of his family, being a forgiving man, and being willing to help anyone.  He had a strong Christian faith and always strived to be a more caring and loving person.

Howard is survived by his wife, June of Beaver Dam; his four children: Dale (Colleen) Wolfgang of Watertown, Deborah (Douglas) Soravia of Waupun, Donald (Elizabeth) Wolfgang of Beaver Dam and Dorothy (Todd Beske) Wolfgang of Beaver Dam; 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren with another one on the way; and his two sisters: Jean and Judy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Mark, Jack, and Larry, and his grandson, Jake Wolfgang.
