July is National Bison Month

2016 is turning out to be a pretty good year for the buffalo — on May 9, 2016, Pres Obama signed the NATIONAL BISON LEGACY ACT adopting buffalo as our national mammal.  (Note:  Some purists argue that bison should not called buffalo.  They are wrong.)
Not only is the buffalo the national mammal but, in addition, an entire month is dedicated to buffalo, since July is National Bison Month.
By way of comparison, there are a total of zero months dedicated to the beaver.  Instead, there is only one stinking day per year when we joyously celebrate the beaver:  INTERNATIONAL BEAVER DAY, every April 7th.  Does this seem remotely fair to you?
Here are a couple of important questions:
1.  Does America need a NATIONAL RODENT?  And, if so . . . hmmm, what creature would that be?
2.  Are there any buffalo songs that we must listen to on account of National Bison Month?
