Obituary: Violet May Immerfall

Violet May Immerfall, age 88 of Beaver Dam, was called home to her mansion in heaven on Sunday, July 24, 2016.

Violet was born on December 28, 1927 in Waukegan, IL, the daughter of George and Julia (Blazer) Colvin. She was united in marriage to Joseph St. John; he preceded her in death in 1951. On May 29, 1953, she was united in marriage to Alfred “Tuffy” Immerfall in Dubuque, IA. Violet worked as a waitress at several area restaurants, including City Lunch and Zemlow’s Restaurant. She worked at Green Giant for 25 years and also worked at Green Valley Enterprises for 3 years.

Violet is survived by her daughters, Marie (Terry) Schave of Pardeeville and Ruth (Kurt) Ryan of Beaver Dam; her son’s significant other, Barb Lawhun; 10 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; her brother, Walter (Marsha) Colvin of Brainerd, MN; 3 sisters-in-law; 1 brother-in-law; nieces; nephews; other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her son, Richard Immerfall in 2010; 5 brothers; 2 sisters and other relatives.

Visitation for Violet will be held on Thursday, July 28, 2016 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Chaplain Dennis Richards officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memory Gardens, town of Trenton, with a luncheon immediately following back at Cornerstone.
