Caryl Goetz, age 91, of Beaver Dam, went to be with her beloved Danny on Monday, August 8, 2016 at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.

Visitation will be at St. Katharine Drexel Church in Beaver Dam on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 from 9:30 AM to 10:50 AM.  A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at church on Tuesday beginning at 11:00 AM.  Fr. Michael Erwin will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Peter’s Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Caryl was born on January 8, 1925 in Beaver Dam, Wisconsin to the late Edwin and Anna (Gerlicher) Volkmann.  On April 19, 1947, she was united in marriage with Daniel G. Goetz in Beaver Dam.  Caryl worked at Beaver Dam High School in the office for a few years.  After raising her children, Caryl went back to work in the cafeteria at St. Peter’s Grade School/UCPS.  A kinder more giving heart you will never find; she was very generous.  She volunteered countless hours with the Beaver Dam Community Hospital Auxiliary.  She enjoyed gardening and loved to share her produce with others.  Caryl was happiest in the kitchen and if you were sick or had problems, she would bring food to help soothe you.  She was an avid Cubs fan since going to Chicago on her honeymoon. She also enjoyed following the Packers and the Badgers.  Caryl was a member of St. Katharine Drexel Parish and had been active with the Catholic Women.

Survivors include four sons, Eric (Catherine) Goetz of Madison, Michael (Kristine) Goetz of Oregon, WI, Tim (Jennifer) Goetz of Beaver Dam, and Jon (Mary) Goetz of Beaver Dam; three grandchildren, Alison (Peter) DeRiemer of Seattle, Jessica (Jacob) Cabreda of Beaver Dam, and Andrew (Lacey) Goetz of Roxbury; four great grandchildren; her sister, Beth Dezer of Massachusetts; other relatives and friends.  Caryl was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; and three sisters, Dorthea Mueller and Anita Glockner, and Ina Volkmann, in infancy.

If desired, memorials may be made to the St. Katharine Drexel School Endowment Fund.
