Obituary: Geraldine “Mouse” Giese

Geraldine “Mouse” Giese of Burnett passed away peacefully with her family at her side at the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam on Sunday, August 21, 2016.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, August 24, 2016 at noon at Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett with the Rev. Timothy Sallach officiating. A visitation will be held prior to the service on Wed., Aug 24th from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at the church.  Interment will be at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton.

Geraldine who was 84 years old was born in Juneau, WI to Walter and Viola Klug.  She attended St. John’s Lutheran School and graduated from Juneau High School.  On September 20, 1952, she married the love of her life Alphons Giese and they made their home in Burnett and raised their children: Jeffrey (Joanne Swyers), Jody (John) Gulke and Mark (Patty) Giese.

Geraldine worked at the Lutheran Hospital and Beaver Dam Community Hospital a combined 34 years, retiring in 2001.  She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett.  Her retirement years were spent riding her John Deere tractor and spending long hours taking care of her yard and the home she loved.  Her love for her family and God was endless.

Geraldine is survived by her children, her grandchildren: Matt (Lindsey) Giese, Megan Watson, Joshua and Justin Gulke and six great grandchildren; her sisters: Louise Kurtz, Ruth (Ronald) Rahn and Anna (Craig) Zwygart; her brothers Eugene (Margaret) Klug and Paul (Betty) Klug and many relatives and friends.

Geraldine was preceded in death by her husband Alphons in 1971, her parents Walter and Viola Klug, daughter-in-law Kathy Giese, sisters: Doris Marohl, Helen Nomensen, Verna Ayers, brothers: Earl Klug and Roland Klug, also two brothers-in-law and her sister-in-law.

Memorials may be made to Zion Lutheran Church in Burnett and to the Remembrance Home in Beaver Dam.

The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at the Remembrance Home for their supportive and loving care.  You are all angels who cared for our loved one like she was family.
