According to some accounts, bowties herald from the 17th century, when they were used to hold together the opening of shirts.  Today, the bowtie is a fashion statement worn by the likes of James Bond, Col Sanders, and Dr Who (see attached video clip: Bowties are Cool).
Unafraid of diversification, the bowtie method has become an important analysis tool and is utilized to diagram a number of processes, including:  multiplication, adding fractions, and risk management (for example, see attached video clip on adding fractions).  There is a bowtie swing dance, napkins and dollars are folded to resemble bowties, and a number of songs are called “Bowtie,” from such artists as Outkast, Hansel Thorn, Yelawolf, Lul Brody, Mark O’Connor and of course, “Bow Tie Daddy” by Frank Zappa.
However, the most important bowtie contribution is the culinary delight: BOWTIE NOODLES, which can be found in all the high class Italian restaurants. And this brings us to the Beav’s attire.  He’s sporting a bowtie with the colors of the Italian flag, in respect to the people who recently died in the terrible earthquake disaster in Italy.
