The Eagle Hangar
EAA AirVenture Museum

Saturday, September 24, 2016
7 to 11 p.m.

On September 24, 2016, you can relive the excitement and glamour of the big band era at EAA’s September Swing, a 1940s-style hangar dance. Start the celebration off with delicious era-inspired hors d’oeuvres at the anti-rationing buffet and grab one of our featured signature drinks from the bar. Visit the head table to talk with WWII veterans, hear some of their stories, and thank them for their service. They, along with all other veterans, will be recognized at the beginning of the night, so make sure you show up early!

Take to the dance floor to show your swing dance skills or learn how with lessons from our professional dance instructor, Bruce Marshall, from 7:30-8 p.m. Then showcase your new moves and dance the night away with your sweetheart when Ladies Must Swing, an all-female, 19-piece jazz band from Madison, takes the stage at 8 p.m.

Pose for a photo with WWII vehicles or check out the memorabilia on display. You’ll be surrounded by an authentic collection of World War II airplanes, vehicles, and artifacts in our extravagant Eagle Hangar. It will truly be a celebration of the end of an era! Vintage wear is encouraged, but not required. Prizes will be awarded for best period attire and best dancers.

Hors d’oeuvres and dance lessons included with price of admission. Wine, beer and cocktails will be available for purchase all evening.

Prizes will be awarded for best period attire and best dancers.

WWII veterans will be honored at this year’s event. They are welcome to attend for free and are encouraged to share photos and stories of their service.

Free admission for Military Veterans. (Must present Military ID at event.)
