Don R. Mengel, age 74, formerly of Horicon, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the London Lodge in Cambridge.
A private memorial service was held for the family.
Donovan Robert Mengel was born on February 18, 1942 in Eau Claire, Wisconsin to Orvel and Velma (Burhop) Mengel. He worked at John Deere in Horicon for 30 years, retireing in 1994. Don was an avid outdoorsman and took many hunting and fishing trips. His greatest joy was his family and his two dogs, Thunder and Stormy.
Survivors are his children, Tammy (Brian Borden) Skalitzky of Juneau and Mike (Tina) Mengel of Waterloo; step children, Kelly (Brent) Kittleson of Beaver Dam and Patti Garcia of Horicon; as well as other step children; grandchildren, Christopher (Laurie), Eric, Jacob, Candice, Brandon and other step grandchildren; great grandchildren, Robert and Blake; other family and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Shawn.
The family wishes to thank Meg and all the staff at London Lodge as well as Rainbow Hospice Care for all their exceptional care that was given to Donovan.
